Dear School and Community Friends,

It’s hard to believe that we are in the last quarter of the school year! We had a great turn out for the elementary-age Parent and Teacher Conferences and this year’s Student-Led Conferences at our secondary schools. I am very thankful for your partnership and involvement in your child’s education.

The district is guided by our district mission, which is: to inspire and facilitate a passion for life-long learning and the pursuit of excellence in every student, every day. Our District’s beliefs continue to be powerful teaching and learning, communication, financial stewards, and a positive climate and culture.

The District’s Five-Year Strategic Plan focuses on the following goals:

  1. Quality Learning. Engage and inspire every student through powerful and innovative instruction, fostering development of critical-thinking skills and motivating academic achievement through high expectations.
  2. Positive Image. Strengthen our District by countering unfounded perceptions and stereotypes of Granite Falls. Celebrate student successes and civic progress, working collaboratively with district partners – including local government, the chamber of commerce, and service organizations.
  3. College and Career Ready. Ensure that every student transitions successfully between grades and schools and graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitude to excel in diverse post-secondary opportunities. Foster student achievement through active partnerships with parents, families, and our community.

We are working diligently on these goals so that we reach “Every Student, Every Day, in Every Classroom.” Our District believes in this motto whole-heartedly. It is these goals and beliefs that will help us achieve the vision we have declared. A full copy of our Strategic Plan can be found on the District website.

Spring is here and now is an excellent time to talk with your children about the importance of staying focused during these last few months of school. Please review the upcoming events section on our website frequently for end-of-the-year activities including: drama performances, art shows, concerts and of course, graduation activities!  I’ll see you soon at one of our many school events!

Linda R. Hall,
Superintendent
